Membership
Our membership drive begins in mid summer and culminates with the initiation of new members in September.
Prospective members are invited to attend an information session on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 10AM at the Homewood Suites to learn more about membership in Kingwood Women's Club. Homewood Suites is located at 23320 US 59 N, near the corner of Kingwood Drive and Loop 494, Kingwood - (281) 358-5566. An orientation tour of our projects is planned for new members in September.
There are two membership requirements: a minimum of 40 volunteer service hours per year (30 hours for first year members) and attendance at two meetings. Our meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of each month. Two of these meetings held in the evening. Meetings often include programs featuring a wide range of topics and speakers.
Camaraderie among our members is encouraged through a wide range of social activities. Each year the club plans a "ladies only" weekend referred to as "Pilgrimage". These excursions have been to places such as New Orleans, Natchez, New Braunfels, Galveston, Fredericksburg, Jefferson and Wimberly. These weekends often include a tour of historic homes or other interesting sites as well as plenty of time for shopping and antiquing. Dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings are planned as a time when we all come together to share our adventures of the day.

Our Social Committee plans monthly social events for club members to become better acquainted. Recent outings have included antique shopping, lunches, wine tasting, progressive dinner, bowling, a night at the race track, museums and historical homes. For evening events, spouses and guests are included.
